You set the audio endpoint you wish to stream from LiveStream here and also set the Meta options, more commonly known as Now Playing information.
Audio
LiveStream allows you to capture audio from a variety of different sources.
Capture
This allows you to choose if you want to capture an Input or Output device. Input is something that you would think of as incoming to the computer, like a record channel. Output is what it going out of the computer, like the Line Out.
Audio Interface
This can be either Direct Sound, WASAPI or ASIO. By default, this will be WASAPI. If you're not sure what this is, then leaves it as its default.
Available Devices
If either of the above options is changed then this list will be updated to reflect the devices available. Simply choose the device you want to use for all your encoders.
Meta Data Source
In ordinary circumstances now playing metadata is taken from a text file which is output by the automation system then sent on the stream. LiveStream is flexible in how it allows you to collect and send this information and is set here. To choose if an encoder should be exempt from sending meta then please see Meta / Billboard in the Encoder section.
There are three options:
1. No Meta Data
Turns off Meta Data completely. LiveStream will not look for or send, information.
2. Get Meta Data from a file
This is the usual process for getting Metadata. You choose the file which is output by the automation system by clicking the ... icon at the end of the Meta / Billboard File field.
If you cannot configure how your automation system writes this now playing information LiveStream allows you to see how it is read:
Reverse Artist & Title:
Flips these around. So if the now playing file looks like this when you open it
Billy Ocean Red Light Spells Danger
then ticking this option will concatenate the lines and send the now playing information as
Red Light Spells Danger - Billy Ocean
Only use the first line of the Meta / Billboard file:
If your file only contains the now playing information on one line then choose this, otherwise, LiveStream will assume two lines of information.
Separator:
This determines what is used to separate Artist and Title. So if you're using the Reverse Artist & Title option and Only use the first line of the Meta / Billboard file options then where the artist and title split will be based on this setting (default -).
3. Receive Meta Data from PlayoutONE Monitor
PlayoutONE Monitor is a complimentary application for PlayoutONE and can be used to manage multiple metadata endpoints. For more information on Monitor then please see the PlayoutONE Monitor section.
One of the endpoints Monitor can send to is LiveStream. Monitor will get the current playing information directly from the database and deliver it to LiveStream, negating the need for now playing files. All you need to do is choose how you would like the data sent via LiveStream and what ports you are using for Monitor to talk to LiveStream.
Artist before Title and Title before Artist:
You can only have one or the other of these options chosen. These tell LiveStream in which order to arrange the now playing meta.
TCP Meta Port:
This is the port that LiveStream opens to receive commands via a TCP socket (default 8083).
TCP Control Port:
This is the port that LiveStream opens to receive commands via a TCP socket (default 8050).
Separator:
What to concatenate the Title and Artist fields with. So if you wanted to join the now playing information up as Red Light Spells Danger by Billy Ocean, then you can change the separator to be by. You would need to set the Title before Artist option for this to work like this (default -).
