Swapping On-Air Control

Created by Jason Carr, Modified on Thu, 14 Mar at 6:42 PM by Jason Carr

To change which Machine is OnAir, simply toggle the OnAir button. You can do this from the Machine that you wish to the new OnAir Machine (you'll be prompted that you are sure you wish to take control away from the current On Air machine).

You can also swap On Air control automatically.

Within PlayoutONE (from the on-air machine) you are able to run a command which can switch On-Air control to another machine.

To do this you can create a custom command:

ONAIR CHANGE PCNAME/IP

Replace PCNAME/IP above with the name or IP Address of the machine you would like to take on-air control. For help creating a custom command refer to the following help article: Creating a command

You can then insert this command into the log when the command is reached the following will happen:

  • The on-air machine will play the next item in the log after the command
  • The machine you wish to become the on-air machine will switch to on-air, it will automatically wait for the length of time until the original on-air machine had finished playing
  • The log on the new on-air machine will now start playing
Note: For this to work you need to ensure both machines are set to process incoming splits. You can enable this under: Settings> Splits and check Process Incoming Splits
