Automation & Chains

Every item on the log contains a chain, this is either a Green circle or a Red stop sign. This is what is used to control the flow of the log.

When an item is set to a Red stop, PlayoutONE will stop after playing that item and will wait until the Play Next button is pressed (this is located on the top of the Log window)

If an item is has a Chain displaying a Green circle, when the item finishes it will keep on playing through the rest of the log.

To change the chain of an item, simply double click on the chain icon, and it will alternate between Green or Red.

If you are running with Automation On, any Red stops that are in the log will be ignored

Note: You can quickly toggle chain the current playing item, by using the Toggle Chain button located on the top of the Log.
