The Media Editor has its own settings to the main PlayoutONE application, allowing you to customize the audio settings for the editor.

You can access these settings by clicking the settings button, highlighted in the screenshot below.

Audio Settings

In the settings, there is an 'Audio Out' and 'Audio In' tab, which allows you to select the audio devices you wish to use.

Extro Preview

On the Extro Preview tab, you can specify a UID that will play when you preview the extro in the Media Editor. This is useful if you want to preview how a song will sweep into a sweeper at the extro point of the song.

Other

On the Other tab, you can specify a number of settings which are outlined below.

Auto Extro The Audio On Import: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will automatically set an Extro point when you import audio.

Auto Trim The Audio On Import: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will automatically set an Trim points when you import audio.

Auto Complete On All Fields: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will try to auto complete fields. For example, if you type 'Ab' into the artist field, it will auto complete the artist name to 'Abba' - assuming you have Abba already in your library.

Normalise On Import: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will run a peak normalisation on the audio on import.

Use MusicONE Scheduling Categories: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will use categories set in your Music1 database on the category tab.

Show Type Colours On Waveform: When this setting is enabled, the Media Editor will use the type colour in the waveform display. If this is disabled, it will use the colours specified in the settings.

MP3 Bitrate: The bitrate to use if you are using the MP3 format in your library.

FLAC Compression Rate: The compression rate to use if you are using the FLAC format in your library.
